Hi! I’m Jack, a UX designer passionate about creating meaningful, intuitive digital experiences. I enjoy turning complex challenges into engaging, human-centred solutions.
Through my time studying Interaction Design, I’ve built a strong foundation in both UX research and design—gaining real industry experience and developing a creative, thoughtful approach to problem-solving. I’m excited to keep that momentum going as I grow as a designer.
When I’m not working, you’ll find me surfing, mountain biking, making pottery, or enjoying a good audiobook—with my dog as great company.
Vibe is a career discovery platform designed to help young people explore their future with curiosity and confidence. Built for students navigating uncertainty, Vibe reimagines how we approach careers—not as rigid paths to be chosen early, but as evolving journeys shaped by interest, exposure, and experience. The platform offers immersive glimpses into real-world environments and invites users to discover what feels right for them.
Vibe followed a human-centred design process, beginning with qualitative research like interviews, surveys, and competitor analysis. Speaking with secondary school students, university students, parents, and teachers helped reveal the emotional challenges young people face during career planning. Many students felt pressure to decide too early, with little space or time to explore.
I used frameworks like Jobs to Be Done and persona-building to define motivations and goals, and mapped these into a hybrid flow combining journey maps, user flows, and service blueprints. Low- and mid-fidelity prototypes were tested with real users to shape onboarding, navigation, and discovery features. Emotional feedback and behavioural insight helped refine the tone and pacing of the product—resulting in a smoother, more self-led experience.
To avoid the formality and friction of traditional career tools, I drew visual and functional inspiration from platforms like TikTok, Spotify, and BeReal—creating something students would recognise and trust. Testing cycles were short and scrappy, but purposeful. From microinteractions to layout decisions, everything was guided by real user input.
The final MVP offers a mobile-first experience where students can explore immersive career environments, hear from professionals, and save content that resonates with them. It's not a quiz or a checklist—it’s a tool for developing interest through exposure, curiosity, and emotional connection.
The design system features a dynamic identity, accessible UI components, and emotionally resonant visuals. Interactive 360° spaces allow users to explore real workplaces and receive subtle, optional guidance—mirroring the freedom they want, while supporting their growth.
Vibe is designed to scale: starting with students transitioning from school to university, but with a clear path for future expansion into new audiences and use cases. Whether it’s supporting career changers, lifelong learners, or professionals contributing content, Vibe has the flexibility and vision to grow.
