The Process

So, when I first tackled this problem, I knew I had to hear straight from the education pros themselves. Getting their insights was key to really getting what they were up against. After soaking in all that firsthand knowledge, I was ready to brainstorm some solutions. And of course, I had to scope out the competition too, seeing how users interacted with their stuff and spotting any similarities.

I rolled up my sleeves and began sketching pages based on the previously mapped-out user flow. This process was heavily informed by prior research, which significantly guided my decision-making. I carefully selected various elements for the pages, determining their relevance to the overall design. Once the sketches met my satisfaction, I progressed to wireframing, further developing the structure. When the wireframes were refined to an acceptable standard, I advanced to the UI stage, ensuring adherence to the established brand guidelines for the project.

The Outcome

This project threw a slew of little hurdles my way that I had to leap over. The biggest challenge? Access. Trying to get valuable insights straight from the end users was like pulling teeth. But it was absolutely essential. After all, what's the point of crafting an app if it doesn't hit the bullseye with its intended audience? Although it extended the timeline and added extra layers of complexity, I ultimately managed to crack the code and gather the crucial information needed to keep the project on track.

In my approach to design, I place a high value on empathy and inclusivity. While I aim to consider the diverse needs and experiences of all users, I recognize the importance of actively seeking feedback from marginalized or underrepresented groups to ensure their voices are heard and their needs are addressed. By advocating for accessibility features and embedding inclusive design principles into my workflow, I created an equitable and user-friendly experiences for everyone. Ultimately, I'm proud of the final product, as it reflects my passion for both learning and helping users achieve their goals.
