Hey! I’m Benn — a UX & Digital Designer who loves solving real-world problems through thoughtful, creative design. I’m passionate about building design systems, crafting engaging web experiences, and exploring the intersection of branding and technology.
During my time studying Interaction Design, I had the opportunity to work with major brands like Disney, ESPN, and National Geographic, and also took on freelance web and music projects. I’ve learned so much about design, collaboration, and myself along the way.
Outside of work, I’m a music producer and sound designer working with artists globally — and I’m always chasing that sweet spot where design and sound collide.
I wanted to explore the growing need for better collaboration in music production, especially for students, independent artists, and educators. Traditional software often lacks real-time tools, slows down devices with heavy files, and limits creative teamwork.
Noizebox is a cloud-based DAW designed to bring back the feeling of studio collaboration — remotely. With built-in AI tools for lyrics, demos, and stem-splitting, plus real-time editing, cloud storage, and a scalable design system, the platform aims to streamline production, education, and promotion in one space.
My goal was to rethink how musicians create together, no matter where they are.
Research was central to the development of Noizebox, especially as I set out to understand the unique challenges musicians, producers, and educators face when working remotely. I began by speaking to students, producers, and session musicians to gain insight into their current workflows and frustrations with traditional DAWs. Their feedback helped shape the foundation of the project — highlighting problems like lack of collaboration, slow file handling, and limited access to learning tools.
User research played a vital role throughout the project. I conducted interviews and surveys at different stages to ensure the solution reflected the real needs of the creative community. This led to the creation of user personas, journey maps, and empathy maps that helped me better understand how to support users through every stage of the music-making process.
Because this was my first time designing a music-focused SaaS platform, I carried out extensive competitor analysis — looking at existing DAWs, collaboration tools, and emerging AI technologies in music. This gave me a clearer sense of what was missing and how Noizebox could fill that gap.
Sketching and wireframing helped me explore how features like AI lyric assistants, real-time collaboration, and cloud storage could be integrated into a clean, intuitive interface. I built out a full component-based design system to ensure scalability and consistency across the platform, and created a detailed interactive prototype to bring the experience to life.
This project pushed me to combine my passion for music with my skills in UX, branding, and design systems — and taught me a lot about designing for complex, evolving user needs.
Noizebox is a cloud-based collaborative DAW designed for music producers, students, and educators. From AI-powered tools to real-time editing, Noizebox combines modern music-making with accessibility, education, and scalability at its core.
Collaboration:
Producers and musicians can work together live — editing, recording, and mixing sessions in real time, just like they would in a studio environment. No need for endless file sending or waiting on stems.
AI Integration:
The platform features built-in AI tools including a lyric assistant, song demo generator, and stem-splitting for multitrack files. These tools help speed up the creative process and lower technical barriers.
Cloud Storage & Community:
Users can securely store large project files without slowing down their devices and access a connected online community for feedback, learning, and collaboration.
Design System & Branding:
A scalable component-based design system and distinct brand identity were developed to ensure consistency, flexibility, and room for future growth.
This project has been one of my most ambitious and rewarding. It pushed me to combine my love of music and design, while solving real-world problems faced by creatives around the world. Through speaking to users, building prototypes, and exploring new technologies, I’ve created a solution that I believe could truly change the way musicians connect, create, and collaborate online.
I hope Noizebox inspires more seamless, accessible, and inspiring ways to make music — and opens the door for a new generation of producers to collaborate without limits.
